New Ebook: Code-Free Layout with Skinr, Fusion and Panels

Code-Free Drupal Layout, cover Earlier this year I delivered a series of talks and workshops on how to use "advanced" modules to create Drupal layouts without ever having to crack open a PHP file. The slides from my CMS Expo talk "Advanced Design for Drupal" were uploaded to SlideShare. Now, for the first time ever, the notes from this talk (which became a three-week workshop) are available for sale.

Code-Free Layout with Skinr, Fusion and Panels is a 35-page ebook which covers some of the most popular "advanced layout" tools that Drupal has to offer. If you want to achieve a higher degree of control over your site but don't want to learn PHP, this workbook is the place to start. Techniques in this ebook will be especially helpful for sites that have "volatile" content. The volatility may be caused by a client who changes their mind on a regular basis, or content that varies based on taxonomy terms, or the type of visitor looking at the site.

This ebook covers the use of Skinr, Fusion and Panels. Chosen for their their excellent online documentation, popularity in the community and ease of use, these Drupal add-ons will transform the way you think about page layout in Drupal. This quick start guide kicks you into high gear before letting you loose with a powerful new toolkit.

Code-Free Layout with Skinr, Fusion and Panels is now available for (purchase and) immediate download.

Congratulations!

I'm very interested to see how the Skinr/Fusion/Panels combination affects the world of Drupal theming on the whole, and expect this to have a real effect. Anything that makes theming easier will do a LOT for Drupal adoption.

(I've been playing more with DrupalGardens' Theme Builder, which is interesting in its own right. Must get back to playing with Fusion one of these days....)
